An On-going Battle: Birdfeeder vs. Squirrels
As an article my husband Marty ran across the other day demonstrates, avian-feeders often find themselves in an on-going struggle fending off squirrels that snatch the feed intended for the birds. After many exasperating months of trying different “squirrel-proof” feeders, hanging them in locations difficult for the pesky rodents to reach, the frustrated birds returned to enjoy their preferred bounty without competition from the ravenous... He even provided them with their own feeders in an attempt to appease the greedy squirrels. Seeing that other people struggle with a similar situation gave me the perfect opportunity to update our readers on our own on-going saga: birdfeeders vs. squirrels. Now they were devouring the bird seeds at what seemed like record-breaking speed. Those who own birdfeeders seem to share a common struggle.
